Why do we use certain words
over others?

Some words are more respectful, others show a pagan influence that has crept into our faith

This page is our glossary of terms that talks about our thoughts on all this. Please share your thoughts, that we might perfect our faith.

aviv | אביב

Aviv is biblical name for the month of Nisan in the Hebrew calendar. We find mention of the “month of Aviv” several times in the Biblical writings.
When is the Jewish month of Aviv? The Hebrew word aviv (Heb. אביב) actually translates as the season of “spring.”
Nisan on the Assyrian calendar is the first month, and on the Hebrew calendar is the first month of the ecclesiastical year and the seventh month of the civil year. The name of the month is of Assyrian-Babylonian origin; in the Torah it is called the month of the Aviv.
Wikipedia

The use of “spring” is telling us that we should ensure that Passover will always coincide with the right season, during the aviv, or spring.
